Legislation of Morality Comes Full Circle

Is it too obvious that I am running out of ideas to talk about on this blog? Or did I hide it well? Anyways, back to the topic of Legislation of Morality. We left with the questions placed upon the credibility of the supposed arbitrary person or people chosen to decide the morals of the world. Who even would be qualified to be chosen? Could it be a reputed personality famous for their humanitarian deeds? Or should it be someone who lives a quiet life and would remain anonymous for obvious reasons? So, let's say we solve the problem of the said person or people being railroaded and suppressed by the masses by keeping them anonymous. This shall negate the idea of what will the court of public opinion rule on their fates. So, now that we have that system in place, we need to find a selection criteria to decide who gets to be a part of this elite force. Simply put, those who want to be a part of it the most are the least qualified to do so. Not because we want someone who hates to do this, but someone too eager to be a part of the team is probably not the best choice when it comes to deciding the fate of humanity.

Then perhaps religious heads could work, right? People who already propagate their religion's rules and teachings to their followers. Maybe a Buddhist Monk, afterall Buddhism is supposedly the most calm and peace loving religion, isn't it? Or perhaps a United Colors of Benetton type situation by combining all religious heads together. Because if you choose only one religious head, the others are SURE to riot against it. But then, who gets placed where in the hierarchy inside the team? We can't have equality in there because simply speaking, equality is an illusion. You can try establishing it but it didn't work out well for the water, air and earth nations, and it ain't gonna work out well here neither. But, let's assume that the order or hierarchy has been decided, the next order of business before any laws are passed would be to ensure that the this order and chain of command is honored by the various members. We are all well aware how HARMONICALLY all religions exist in our world. So peacefully and non-violently... Now it's time for the big guns. We would need a governing authority to watch over these religious heads, praise them when they do right and scare them into abstaining from evil. I wonder what to call this entity... It will be a type of being who would be Guarding Our Deacons. And, we do live in a world of acronyms, so let's abbreviate that. GOD...

Well, would you look at that. We came full circle. For morality to be legislated and made to follow as a law, we need to establish a new religion. And if you rewind and notice, the series of problems and path that led us to this is all human in nature. None of it is barred by science, or spirituality or math, or anything else, all our barriers that have led us to need a whole new religious practice to simply implement morality are all HUMAN in nature. So, I leave you with this thought, "The human moral keyboard is limited... there's nothing you can play on it that hasn't been played before. And, my dear friends, I am sorry to say this, but it has its lower notes." - Margaret Atwood
